About This Bursary

SAICA’s Thuthuka Bursary Fund 2027 is a transformative programme dedicated to developing future Chartered Accountants (CAs) from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly African and Coloured students. This fully comprehensive bursary covers tuition, accommodation, books, and living expenses, and is valid for studies at selected SAICA-accredited universities. Beyond financial aid, Thuthuka provides extensive academic support, mentorship, and life skills training, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the CA profession and contribute to its transformation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be African or Coloured, and come from a disadvantaged background.
  • Must meet the academic requirements for university entrance and for a BCom Accounting degree (specifically for CA(SA) stream).
  • Strong academic performance in Matric (especially Maths and English) is crucial.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
